I had a bunch of circles made and thought I would pull them out to play. Since I left my Strips on Stripes project in Victoria, I was still wanting to work on this concept, with the addition of circles. I played around a little and this is the result.
I'll see where this takes me.
fabulous totally and utterly fabulous
ReplyDeleteamazing gorgeousness, as always!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Love the strips over the circles. Did you applique the circles and are they raw edges?
ReplyDeleteWow! Innovative and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteGulp! too too wonderful and I continue to be your crazed fan,
ReplyDeleteMelody
Just in case anyone else is wondering...the circles are appliqued and the edges are finished.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. The perpendicular stripes on the strips are so lively.
ReplyDeleteLove it!
ReplyDeletelove the combination of the circles and the striped strips!
ReplyDeletesimply stunning! I have a great idea :))
ReplyDeleteyou should do a quilt along so we all can learn how
to make your stunning quilts!
I know you've posted a tutorial on how you do this, but I'm still stumped. I vote for a quilt along, too (because I know you won't come to North Carolina and give me a private lesson).
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog, hello! Your quilts are just stunning! Gorgeous design, lovely workmanship too - I have been enjoying your tutorial on QAYG. I have been quilting for many years but have never tried that - thanks!
ReplyDeleteSheer perfection. You just continue to inspire and humble me.
ReplyDeletefabulous, marvelous, ingenious!
ReplyDeleteThis is so wonderful!
ReplyDeleteGreetings from Taiwan! Just found your blog via Flickr! Your quilts are simply stunning and inspiring!
ReplyDeleteSpectacular! Wow! Thank you for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much....I really should finish that quilt.
DeleteSo as far as I can tell from the photos--you applique, quilt the first sandwich, slice and insert the strips and then sew them down through the inserted batting if there is any and the backing. Hard to tell from the pictures. Love the quilts and love QAYG. But the assembly order makes it a dream or a nightmare. Could you lend some enlightenment? Love the fabric and combinations. These would make stunning pillows on a dull couch or make a dull couch dramatic.
ReplyDeleteThanks, but that just sounds way to complicated. The strips are just appliqued right onto the sandwich. I just haven't gotten around to writing a tutorial yet.
