It's a mystery to me how a girl, who can coordinate fifty quilting fabrics, in under an hour ....well almost....cannot coordinate a simple wardrobe, for a trip. Weeks of shopping result in lovely clothes, which of course, I can't even take one third of, with me. Why, you might ask, because I'm married to Mr. I only need a carry on for a three week vacation. Grumble grumble!
It's a mystery to me that I can make multiple artistic decisions about my quilts...at least I think they are artistic, but, I just can't decide what to bring and what to it leave behind...I inevitably make the wrong choices and then it's to late. Mr. I'll just buy a t-shirt when I get there just doesn't understand......
It's a mystery to me why the under wire always breaks, at the most inopportune moments... just as I'm packing, at the last hour, of course.
Then it's really a mystery that I'm actually showing you pictures of my underwear.
So where am I going with all of this? This quilter is going sailing. I am starting out as sailing quilter but you never know, I might be converted to a quilting sailor. If technology allows I'll keep you posted.
When I get back the first thing I'll tackle is the tutorial for adding the QAYG Borders to this block.
And the very next thing is, I'll be getting involved in Lynne's Quilt along
If you love to quilt and love to laugh..check it out.
Now back to that darn packing!!!
You are so honest and funny! Have fun on your trip...and I love your block!
ReplyDeleteStill chuckling! Safe trip. I hope you are still a quilting sailor on your return.
ReplyDeletehee hee hee! have a great trip!
ReplyDeleteI am married to a Mr. One small bag for three weeks. But if I take a bigger bag he is sweet enough to carry my bigger bag for me. Have a good trip and leave a long winter land.
ReplyDeleteAt last, I know that I am not the only one. Have a wonderful trip. Looking forward to hearing about your quilting sailor journey.
ReplyDeleteMust be a guy thing! We went to CA last Nov. to see the kids and were gone 2 1/2 weeks. My DH thought he could get along with just a duffle bag! I was like you. I got my LARGE suitcase out and tried to figure out what to take for 2 weeks before we left. I kept adding and subtracting things and inevitably I took all the wrong things and way too much...LOL
ReplyDeleteHave a great time :)
Gee, hi there sister in law - we're married into the same family. Same story, I'll buy it on the beach/just go swimming and it will be clean/cram everything into a carry-on and be damned if it's wrinkled. Yup ! That's why we don't take plane trips together ( grin)

Just found your blog thanks to Melody sending us your way. Hopy you are having the time of your life on your trip. Also, hoping you get back soon so I can learn your QAYG method. Love your quilts, your colors, and I could go on and on, but, won't. Love 'em.
ReplyDeleteI can see now, your blog, along with Melody's, is going to get me in trouble.
Don't you just love being in trouble? (me too!)
have a wonderful trip! I sort everything on the bed, put half of it away, pack, and then start jamming in some of the things I've already taken out, and end up with way too much of the wrong stuff! Thanks so much for the QAYG tutorials, you've just solved the mystery of the joining for me!
ReplyDeleteJust discovered your QAYG quilts - what a fantastic idea for those of us with only a domestic sewing machine ! Can't wait to lay my hands on a walking foot and have a go !
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful trip - and remember - anything 'goes' when you're on holiday !
(edited to correct a typo !)
Bon voyage! Are you two the sailors?
ReplyDeleteI have the same problem when I go away! Love your quilts
