It's been snowing and blowing all day long. I've been away from the sewing machine for a few weeks and I've been anxious to get back to it, but I sort of had to force myself, down to the cold basement.
Funny how that works.....when I should be doing other things I'm down there quilting up a storm and when I finally have some time it's like pulling teeth getting started. Often, when I'm feeling like that, I just go down and play with some ideas that have been sitting there for a while. That's probably why I have so many projects on the go.
I know exactly how you feel because it's the same with me. Once I get started it's all right.
ReplyDeleteEarly morning workouts with my high school swimming team were the same way, the coach yelling at me to get in, me standing at the side of the pool, hating the thought of getting into that water. But once I was there....all was well with the world.
Jump into the pool. The water's fine!
I know exactly what you are talking about - off work today and I should be working on and finishing some projects but I'm dithering - excusing myself by doing 'housework' - but I WILL get to it after lunch ;o)
ReplyDeleteI often have that problem when I finish a project and don't know where to go next - not that I don't have plenty to choose from :)
ReplyDeleteHi, Marianne. Came over from Nifty Quilts to enjoy your blog. Your work is lovely. And I named my first blog post the same as you did!

I feel the same way! It's always that first step. I've actually had a productive week, but I do have to have a little nudging by my conscience (I'm working on gifts right now) to get started.
