Usable Art Quilts

I want my quilts to be ART, but I still want my ART to be a quilt.  A real life, touch, hold, throw in the wash, type quilt......to be snuggled under, hung on the wall or draped artistically on some ladder or chair, making a lovely statement in a room.

This means, I like choosing methods of construction, that will allow the quilt,
to be used in daily life.
The back is looking rather interesting.

Hmm, just how many colours can I add in there?

Look at the interesting scraps I am accumulating....I have a plan, sort of.

  3. Thank you thank you thank you for expressing exactly the way I feel about "art quilts!" There is a place in the world for quilts that are "hands off" but that's not my taste. Love your work - this piece is very interesting! You're a brave girl to wack away on your projects that way!

  7. This is a wonderful idea, just like "Bauhaus" has proposed in the 1920s and 1930s. Utilitarian design should be usable and unique at the same time. Satisfy us as users and please us as observers. I still think, that beautiful design is so often out of our reach because of its high prices. Please, keep up with your efforts!

  9. I see my quilts exactly the same way.

I love the way this one is shaping up. Is this your first go at wonky qayg borders?
