To Bee or Not to Bee??? It's something I've been asking myself, as lot of bloggers write about over commitment in the Bee World. I take care, not to over commit, because I'm a tad selfish about my sewing time....only wanting to sew what I really want to sew, if that makes any sense.
I decided to dip my toes in the water....how could I resist when Lynne put together the Free Bee. I was already familiar and with most of the people in the bee and really admire their work.
In this particular bee we use our own stash and have a lot of freedom as it leans toward improvisational type quilting....that's just the thing for me.
Digging in my stash for January's block....no shortage there.
Putting the block together....
I'm up for February, so my brain is in creative whirl, trying to come up with what I want these talented quilters to make for me. Wish me luck with that.
Your block is wonderful. Give them something hard, they will surely be up to the challenge.
ReplyDeleteGreat block - I hadn`t heard about this bee. Look forward to seeing how it progresses for you.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about being selfish about your sewing time. I often feel the same way. That said, I'm so glad I did a couple of bees. They were lots of fun and really had me doing some things that I wouldn't have otherwise.
ReplyDeleteLove January's block and I can't wait to see what you do for yours in February.
Can't wait to see what you come up with for your bee. I am just finishing up my first one and I joined another one for 2012. I can see how it would be easy to get over-committed, so I am sticking with one at a time. Super fun. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteLove the first block, I'm excited to see what you come up with each time!
ReplyDeleteI just picked up the fabric to make my block for the Free Bee - you've reminded me that I need to get busy sewing!
ReplyDeleteGreat block! I love improv!
