I finally had a little time to play, with these delicious Oakshott Cottons.
It probably comes as no surprise that I'm going with an Improvisational QAYG type of project. This is just the beginning....I'll keep you posted.
I think I'm drunk on colour! What a way to spend a day! I just realized it's after 3 pm and I haven't had my lunch yet.....hmm, that doesn't happen very often.
Wow those cottons look positively luminous!
ReplyDeleteOh I'm so jealous of your Oakshott cottons. They look positively yummy. I can see getting drunk on color.
ReplyDeleteI really like your quilts a lot. I went to pin one to my Pinterest "Quilt Inspiration" board and see that you don't allow that. Why is that? Luckily I follow your blog, so I can come back and search for the things you do that I love looking at, but I'm curious about the Pinterest thing.
Thanks,
Carolyn
Oh Wow! These images of your quilts with these cottons totally make my day!! :) Love the color choices!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Hilary...they are really beautiful fabrics.
DeleteYou're welcome! BTW, do you have plans to teach at any quilting venues? I would love to take a class from you. I'm a fellow color lover too and there's just so much to explore with fabrics. Your QAYG style is very clever and allows for a lot of creative freedom but still with construction integrity.
DeleteThanks so much Hilary. I have never done any teaching but I suppose one never knows what's in the future.
DeleteI love using the QAYG method and pushing it a little further, as often as I can.
Well, you should be! If it does happen...and yes, you never know what the future holds...I will be quick to sign-up!
DeleteThanks again, Hilary.
DeleteLoving everything about this - can't wait to see more
ReplyDeleteIt looks wonderful! I could not resist them, a box arrived yesterday.
ReplyDeleteGreat use of these beautiful fabrics!
ReplyDeleteDrool drool and drool some more. Nothing is more liscious than shot cottons. Except perhaps Marianne creating something with them. Now, if you will excuse me, I've got to jump over to that website and order them up!
ReplyDeleteI have never heard of Oakshot cottons, but I will for sure google them! Love your quilt!!
ReplyDeleteWhat great colors! I also had not heard of this type of cotton. Thank you for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the oakshotts. The colors are phenomenal! And your style rocks.
