Thanks so much, I'm using narrow joining strips...if you look under tutorials at the top of blog page you'll find it there. Because the joining strips and applique strips are the same size the joining strips sort of disappear into the design.
When I read your description of adding the easy applique strips, I thought, "oh, that's just like her narrow joining strips." I didn't anticipate the genius of it, in that it's exactly like your narrow joining strips. I love this more every day.
ps. I can't comment on your blog in Google Chrome (my habitual browser on my home mac, but I think it's also happened with Chrome on my work pc) I type a comment, click publish, and it disappears into the ether. This has happened a couple times. Just now I opened Safari and retyped, probably less bewitchingly the second time around.
It’s getting better every day Marianne! Can’t tell which strip in the last picture is the joining one. I first thought the blue one, but I guess it’s one of the lower improv strips?
I love this so much - it is such an inspiration to me. The QAYG method will be an absolute for me to conquer such a quilt. Great tutorial. I just can't say enough good things about this - I could eat it up anytime:-)
I am amazed at how great your QAYG is. I need to perfect this method, although I think it looks better with your style of quilts. I haven't been able to get my regular quilt blocks/rows to look as good doing QAYG. Any tips there? Thanks for sharing your beautiful quilts.
Thanks so much for stopping by and taking the time to comment. I try to respond to all of your wonderful comments....if you are not getting any response from me it's because you are set up as a no-reply blogger. In order to receive a response you can change your status in your blogger profile. I'm no longer accepting anonymous comments.
Thanks again for all your wonderful comments Marianne
Your squares are so beautiful. How do you join them so that you can't even see where the join is?? It's amazing

ReplyDeleteIt is getting better as you go. The joining strips are totally disappearing into the design. I am looking forward to seeing the whole thing finished.
ReplyDeleteI have never tried to quilt as you go and I just may have to give this a try! Love how it is going together!
ReplyDelete♥!

ReplyDeleteOh WOW, those joining strips have become part of the design. You really can't tell what was the block, and what is the joining strip. Way to go!!!
