- A few sewing projects (not quilt related) that I just can't seem to get at.

So....What's Stopping Me??

So...I thought I'd Fire Up The Longarm
That was several hours ago......
My long-arm machine has been languishing in the back room, for way to long, since I have a tendency to get so involved in QAYG projects. I've been wanting to play a little more on the long-arm, without committing to a full quilt. I have done full sized quilts but am really just wanting to experiment a bit.
So out came the books...
One of the books mentioned quilting smaller pieces such as wall hangings on the long arm.
That got me thinking.
I dusted off the machine.....
Cut some batting the same width as the fabric...gotta love that pool table, for jobs like this.
I put a little basting spray on a square of fabric...all ready to play. The backing fabric and batting are 45" wide so I could even play with some small type baby quilts with out having to reload the frame.
I was in a pretty good frame of mind, pardon the pun, until I turned the machine on....TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES.
SEVERAL HOURS LATER.....I think I need an EXPERT and and CHOCOLATE, lots of chocolate!!!!

Thanks For Your Comments
I just wanted to thank all of you for your informative and supportive comments on Pricing One's Work.
I'm not sure how serious my prospective buyer is, but you've all made it so much easier, to stick to my guns. I'll let you know what transpires.
Also thank you for all your kind words about my work.....it's really encouraging.

Look at the fabulous bag I picked up at our local market on Saturday. I gave it to my Mom for her birthday....I really just wanted to keep it for myself (selfish, huh).

Pricing One's Work.....
When someone asks to buy one of my quilts I have a tendency to struggle with pricing it.
Strange as it may sound I would rather give the quilt away than undervalue it.

A few weeks ago I took River Valley Walk .......and hung it in my guest/sewing room on the west coast.
Last week we had guests stay while we were back in Alberta and out of the blue, one of the guests asked to buy it.
I'm just not sure how to price it.

Free Bee July 2012
It's been hot all week....so not a lot of sewing going on around here.
I did enjoy finishing up my July Free Bee block for Stacey.
I dipped into my Colourbox from Oakshott and came up with this.

One Last Ocean Wander
One last ocean wander....before heading back to the prairies.
With my studio arranged to my satisfaction ( I hope) and my scraps all sorted, a walk along the ocean was the order of the day.

Fresh Sorting Day.......
Whoops, I mean Fresh Sewing Day at Lily's Quilts....
Since most of the month of June, was spent, with my head in the scrap bin, so to speak, it feels more like Fresh Sorting Day.
Very little sewing, but lots of sorting went on.

Very little sewing, but lots of sorting went on.
I did a quick QAYG scrap block...because I couldn't help myself, sorting all those scraps was such a temptation, to play a little.
I set up a humungous scrap system.....then flew off to the west coast.
After rearranging the studio, out here a few times, I threw myself back into sorting. I don't have near as many scraps to deal with here, as I do back home. I thought I would set up a smaller version of the scrap system, I have back home.

And, I just had to show you the nifty, oversized safety pin I found for my wall. Thanks for telling me to stop rearranging and go shopping instead, Leanne !!!
So if you have a minute, pop over to Lily's Quilts and see what everyone's been up to.
