I spent yesterday working
on my Free Bee block for Nicolette.
She gave us a marvelous mosaic of windows to choose from. It was the stained glass window that kept calling me.

These fabrics have a very luminous quality about them. The black is a linen look...which is hard to see in the photos
I'm more accustom to working larger, so to help with the scale I pinned a 14 1/2" block on the design wall.
It definitely helped keep me on track.
My only worry is that all the rest of windows, in the mosaic have a very weathered quality about them....I hope this block doesn't stick out like a sore thumb.
I like this blocks - funny I went up to work on the block I'd designed for Nicolette tonight and something held me back ... I wonder if I was needing to see this first - time will tell
ReplyDeleteI see the linen look of the black! I have probably asked you this before, but where do you get that 3/3 tone ombre like fabric? The mosaic block looks great!
ReplyDeleteIt is full of light, very nice!
ReplyDeleteLoooove the block...lucky lucky recipient! I am making my first QAYG quilt following your tutorials and just adore it. Thank you for such concise instructions. Any chance of one on how you do your inset circles? Pretty pretty please? ?
ReplyDeleteHi Bonnie, Doing a few tutorials on curves and circles is on my to do someday list but I don't think I can get to it anytime soon. Here is a link for a fabulous little video that Leanne for She Can Quilt put together..http://shecanquilt.blogspot.ca/2012/10/sewing-curves-lets-do-it.html. This is a method I use quite often and Leanne explains it so well.
Deletelove the effect of those fabrics!
ReplyDeleteHi, Neat post. There's an issue with your web site in web explorer, might test this? IE still is the marketplace chief and a huge component of other people will omit your great writing because of this problem.

Thanks...as for the issue, being computer challenged, I'm not even sure I know what that means.
Deletelove your block - it's fabulous
