Aura I.....Underway

Not sure what way...but started nevertheless.

I so appreciate so many of you commenting on my Let's Talk Quilting post. Hearing about your quilting experiences is of great interest to me. It was my own struggle with machine quilting large projects that had me researching various Quilt As You Go methods. Finding a method that I enjoyed and actually finished projects with was my goal. QAYG was my ticket.
Regardless of the fact that I have a longarm, my love affair with QAYG is far from over......it is after all, my first quilting love.
Aura I is about pushing QAYG into more angular or should I say Aura like directions. Let's see where it takes me....

  1. I have serious issues with neck and back pain, so QAYG sounds perfect for me. Actually, I am about to try some of your tutorials so I hope you keep posting them!
I haven't seen any books on modern QAYG projects. have you??
    I just love your work!!

    1. Yes I think that should help since it's much easier to quilt the smaller pieces. As for books with modern projects using QAYG...I can't think of any off hand. Thanks

  2. Love the angular directions of your Aura I!

I currently hand-QAYG and I love it. I’m a bit scared though to put together the blocks when they are all finished (way to go though), but your tutorials will no doubtedly be helpfull!

  3. Don't your pieces distort during quilting? Do you make your base pieces larger and then trim, or do you just trim and straighten as you go? Love the look of this one, too!
