In other words,I am becoming obsessed......... NO, I am obsessed with creating the perfect work space, when we all know there is no such thing. So Instead of quilting I'm moving things around and sort of making myself crazy. Anyone else relate to that??
This turquoise cart from Ikea just had my name written all over it!!
Pretty isn't it....I love that I can roll it away when I'm not sewing at the cutting table....my Bernina is sunk into the cutting table with a hydraulic lift, so convenient.
Never underestimate the dollar store when it comes to containers....all the clear ones are from the dollar store.
I even had my drill out yesterday to hang some shelves etc.
It's coming along!!
On another note: Look what a certain person, in my household, left tacked to my design wall!!!!
As if I would take him to the fabric store with me....I'm not that dumb, then he would actually hear me say the words "I'll take the whole bolt".
"I'll take the whole bolt!" Bwhwhwhahahahahaaaaa!:)
ReplyDeleteI have that same IKEA cart....but I have yet to "organize" it.
ReplyDeleteThose carts are amazing!!!
DeleteI justified a fabric purchase yesterday on the basis that it was for a quilt for my husband and he was worth it. He couldn't argue with that logic!
ReplyDeleteAnd out of curiosity, how many sewing/quilting machines do you actively use? I have machine, as well as space, envy here!

ReplyDeleteI can totally relate to being so focussed on organisation that I end up spending my time looping around my workspaces wondering what to do next! Then I swing the other way (much more often with two preschoolers in the house!) towards total chaos. :)
ReplyDeleteI am relating here! I have spent much time in the last week sorting and tidying and clearing stuff out, precious time that could have been spent sewing.........
ReplyDeleteI organize, organize again and then reorganize! Maybe a little OCD! Your work space is going to be perfection when its finished. You may never leave from there again!
ReplyDeletewow! it all looks great -- the tables, the organizers, and those beautiful machines!
ReplyDeleteWhat is it about the new year that makes us want to organize? I want to also, but just sit and think about it!! :-) You have done a super job--maybe looking will make me want to start!
ReplyDeleteWOW i need you mari...you have a BEAUTIFUL sewing space xo
ReplyDeleteyou studio looks so clean, tidy and well organized...as for organizing and not sewing it could be called aviodance behavior...lol i suffer from it sometimes myself...
ReplyDeleteI want a house full of those carts.
ReplyDeleteGreat post. I'm impressed by all you've done . . . even using the drill to hang shelves. I would have pestered my husband to do it. I can easily get distracted by lots of things including organizing. Caught myself earlier this month and fought off the urge to reorganize my older fabric. For me it was a form of procrastination. I love your new space and can't wait to hear how the new machine works for you.
ReplyDeleteLove your workspace. I have the same dollar store clear containers. The square ones fit my charm squares perfectly, and they fit perfectly in the tall cd tower from ikea too! Where did you get your stools? They are so you!
ReplyDeleteYour space looks great! Once you get it just the way you want it then the projects will flow!
ReplyDeleteLove that ikea cart.
ReplyDeleteI love how organized you are . . . if there is a way to catch this "Organizing Bug", please spread the virus my way. I can sure use it :)
ReplyDeleteKeep Smiling.
Your blogging sister, Connie :)
Looking good! I bought that cart but wimped out and got the grey. It is phenomenally handy. How is your HQ?
ReplyDeleteLooks fantastic!!! and you know I love it!! Cause Im all about being organized!!!! LOL!!! Im a wee bit over organized!!! And ...ummm....I have 3 of those teal ikea carts!!!!! they are AWESOME!!!!!! Keep at it!!!! You are doing a great job!!!
ReplyDeleteFantastic work space. I just bought that cute turquoise cart! I really wanted 2 but settled for one. My 'southern' work space needs organization but I am reading blogs instead of organizing or sewing. Ha
ReplyDeleteOh dear it must be allowed to say that I am a little envious of you.My little sewing room looks like a circus, fabric, yarn and pattern is thrown all over the place. But thank you for sharing pictures of your beautiful room I wanted to clean my sewing room.
ReplyDeleteWish you a good day from the top of Norway
Your space is fantastic, I need to come and see it in person one day soon. I will be organizing this weekend at my house.
ReplyDeleteI love your sewing room!
ReplyDeleteYou have it organized so pretty and functional!
I also like that IKEA cart.
I pinned that cart on Pinterest a while ago, but haven't bought it yet. Looks perfect! Love how your space is coming together. It's amazing how much time we can spend organizing our sewing space. I've been doing the same thing lately.
ReplyDeleteThat's kind of sweet. Your room is looking great and ready to help you reach new creative heights !!
ReplyDeleteYour creative space is going to be (ans is already) fantastic!
ReplyDeleteYour space is coming along nicely and thanks for the chuckle.
ReplyDeleteWhere are you??? Hope everything is OK :)
ReplyDeleteA bad head cold, a crazy migraine, unexpected house guests.....a project I can't blog about, in other words life has been crazy.
DeleteOh, dear...so sorry about those awful migraines :) Hope you feel better. Looking forward to seeing what your quilting. My DH just finished a scrap quilt (69x90!!). I cut all the strips for him but he did all the sewing. I joined 4 large sections using your QAYG method (I LOVE this so much!!!) and I did the binding but that's it. It's his first quilt and he's pretty proud of it. I posted a pic on Flickr and Quilting Board.
