Help....I'm on Organization Overdrive!!

In other words,I am becoming obsessed......... NO, I am obsessed with creating the perfect work space, when we all know there is no such thing. So Instead of quilting I'm moving things around and sort of making myself crazy. Anyone else relate to that??

This turquoise cart from Ikea just had my name written all over it!!

Pretty isn't it....I love that I can roll it away when I'm not sewing at the cutting table....my Bernina is sunk into the cutting table with a hydraulic lift, so convenient.

Never underestimate the dollar store when it comes to containers....all the clear ones are from the dollar store.

I even had my drill out yesterday to hang some shelves etc.

 It's coming along!!

On another note: Look what a certain person, in my household, left tacked to my design wall!!!!
As if I would take him to the fabric store with me....I'm not that dumb, then he would actually hear me say the words "I'll take the whole bolt".

  3. I justified a fabric purchase yesterday on the basis that it was for a quilt for my husband and he was worth it. He couldn't argue with that logic!

And out of curiosity, how many sewing/quilting machines do you actively use? I have machine, as well as space, envy here!

  5. I can totally relate to being so focussed on organisation that I end up spending my time looping around my workspaces wondering what to do next! Then I swing the other way (much more often with two preschoolers in the house!) towards total chaos. :)

  6. I am relating here! I have spent much time in the last week sorting and tidying and clearing stuff out, precious time that could have been spent sewing.........

  7. I organize, organize again and then reorganize! Maybe a little OCD! Your work space is going to be perfection when its finished. You may never leave from there again!

  12. Great post. I'm impressed by all you've done . . . even using the drill to hang shelves. I would have pestered my husband to do it. I can easily get distracted by lots of things including organizing. Caught myself earlier this month and fought off the urge to reorganize my older fabric. For me it was a form of procrastination. I love your new space and can't wait to hear how the new machine works for you.

  13. Love your workspace. I have the same dollar store clear containers. The square ones fit my charm squares perfectly, and they fit perfectly in the tall cd tower from ikea too! Where did you get your stools? They are so you!

  18. Fantastic work space. I just bought that cute turquoise cart! I really wanted 2 but settled for one. My 'southern' work space needs organization but I am reading blogs instead of organizing or sewing. Ha

  22. I pinned that cart on Pinterest a while ago, but haven't bought it yet. Looks perfect! Love how your space is coming together. It's amazing how much time we can spend organizing our sewing space. I've been doing the same thing lately.

    2. Oh, dear...so sorry about those awful migraines :) Hope you feel better. Looking forward to seeing what your quilting. My DH just finished a scrap quilt (69x90!!). I cut all the strips for him but he did all the sewing. I joined 4 large sections using your QAYG method (I LOVE this so much!!!) and I did the binding but that's it. It's his first quilt and he's pretty proud of it. I posted a pic on Flickr and Quilting Board.
